OUR BUSINESS MODEL

We were simply born to distribute fresh produce for a living.

Matumi purchases fresh fruit and veg from a number of suppliers, making sure the produce is top quality. Buying and supporting local farmers is where Matumi goes out of its way to accomplish. Due to sheer demand and such large quantities, a considerable amount of produce is hand selected from the Joburg market then transported to the Matumi pack house where it is repacked into orders.
We are not only limited to fresh fruit and vegetables, we make great efforts to keep with the culinary trends and supply specialized goods on request.
Deliveries to Nelspruit and White River take place on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, Hazyview daily, Kruger National Park, Timbavati and Sabi Sands Tuesdays & Fridays.

OUR STORY

Situated in Kiepersol, Matumi Fresh was founded in 1995 by Anton and Marianne Wood, who began by delivering fresh produce to a handful of local establishments. Their original focus—personalised service and quality produce—remains at the heart of the business today. What started with deliveries made in a single Toyota pick-up has grown into a reputable, family-run operation known for reliability and commitment.

Today, Matumi Fresh operates a diverse fleet of vehicles, delivering fresh produce across a wide region. We serve a carefully selected range of clients within the hospitality, retail, and related sectors, ensuring each receives the highest standard of care and product quality.
